Ishwar Singh Dahiya (Coach)

Ishwar faced wrath within and outside the sport when he announced his intentions to start women’s wrestling at the Chotu Ram Stadium in Rohtak. But he didn’t change his mind, and gave the girls a chance to prove their mettle, and thus transformed Indian wrestling forever.

Since then, a lot of women wrestlers from the centre have gone on to represent the country on many international wrestling events including the Commonwealth Games. This former Haryana Sports department Coach is now an indispensable part of the Haryana Hammers’ Team. As its coach, Ishwar is responsible for training the team, closely monitoring their performances, and constantly tweaking the game strategy to take on the opponents and win the title.

Manjul Nautiyal (Physiotherapist)

Manjul Nautiyal is young and dynamic and understands sports physiotherapy from inside and out. He’s been with the Indian Wrestling Team for long.

He is probably the only physio in the world who had to step on to the mat and fight a real wrestler from Iraq at the Asian Championship in Qatar. He had to do this feat because four Indian wresters couldn’t get their visas on time and Manjul, along with three other non-wrestling members, had to fill in for those wresters. The wrestling federation had to take this step to be able to participate in the World Championships, which is the qualifying tournament for the Rio Olympics in 2016.

As physio – Haryana Hammers, he’ll ensure that the team stays in shape and injury-free and thus, perform to the best of their potential.
